North Carolina Sites Featured In "The Hunger Games"

It's one of the most anticipated movies of the summer, and tourism officials in North Carolina are hoping fans will visit some of the sites where scenes from "The Hunger Games" were filmed.

The Division of Tourism, Film and Sports Development lists twelve places on its website where people can visit sites where some of "The Hunger Games" was filmed, along with hotels where the stars stayed and other sites that have looser connections to the movie and the book it is based on.

"The Hunger Games" premiered in Los Angeles on Monday. It opens nationwide on March 23. Some estimates say the movie based on a young adult novel will rival the amount of money made by the "Twilight" movies.

Wow, so many of these types of films are produced in other countries like New Zealand or Scotland. It is great to see such a big production here in NC.

I loved that place. Been there twice. I've vowed to go back, but just didn't have the time. Several other places up there are great getaways. Make sure to pack plenty of your stuff, there ain't much provided. lol
