Newest Deputy Helps Track Down Suspect

The newest deputy from a local sheriff's office helped make an arrest on his first case.

That deputy is Brody, a K-9 with the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

Brody and Deputy Jason Keeter were called to Highway 561 in the Hollister community about a possible breaking and entering. The victim told deputies he saw two men take off after stealing rims from his property.

Keeter took Brody to track the suspects, and officials say they found one of the suspects in the woods less than a mile from the scene of the crime.

Gregory Bowden, age 24 of Littleton, was taken into custody.

Lawmen also credit the victim for doing a great job getting a description of the suspects and their direction of travel, without trying to approach them and without putting himself in danger.

The search for the second robber continues.

PhD and EdD recipients are also commonly addressed as "doctor". Not saying that the subject gentleman is either, just providing some additional clarification.

Call Rev. Barber! He's probably outraged by the victim's description. BTW, Barber not only titled himself a "reverend" (which has no real religious affiliation, like "Pastor" or "Priest") but he also uses the word "Doctor" in front of his name. In my experience, only medical doctors use that title regularly. Most others that use it are just puffing themselves up to look bigger than they are. So, what kind of doctor is Mr. Barber? I bet he's not very forthcoming with the (probably an honorary title) ....good job officer Brody. Have a box Beggin' Strips.
