New Bern Snow Brings Minor Wrecks, Snowmen

Snow caused some minor wrecks in New Bern and continues to make roadways a bit slick.

Signs caution drivers as they approach the bridges in New Bern. They were slick with ice and slush Sunday. Main streets were wet with some slushy areas, and the side streets were snow and slush covered. Despite the tricky driving, cars lined the overpass of Highway 70. Sled riders also took advantage of the snow fall. There are lots of snowmen around town, even one at the fire station wearing a fireman's jacket. On Attmore Drive two sisters were trying to out-do each other making snowmen.

"This morning I wasn't going to come out because it was too cold and wet but in my personal opinion now it's not very wet and it's not very cold and the snow is pretty," said Sarah Jones.

"It was bad this morning because I was suppose to go to the mall but now it's fun," said Hannah Holbert

Both the girls say Sarah won the competition.

I can't believe the author had the audacity to include wrecks, minor or not, and snowmen competitions in the same article... "There were a few wrecks today, but check out those snowmen!"
