Three days after a reported sexual assault of a woman in Union Point Park in New Bern, many are showing their awareness of sexual violence and support of victims.
Craven Early College is hosting a "Walk A Mile In Her Shoes" event in New Bern Friday.
The "Walk A Mile In Her Shoes" event is an international march designed to stop rape, sexual assault and gender violence.
Directly following the march, Promise Place will hold a candlelight vigil at Christ Episcopal Church in honor of survivors and victims.
The march will take place 6 p.m. Friday at Union Point Park in New Bern, with the vigil immediately following.
Proceeds from the event will go to Promise Place and the Coastal Women's Shelter.
