New Bern says 65% of the city now has power as they continue to make progress of restoring power.
Spokeswoman Colleen Roberts says it could be Thursday or Friday before everyone has power.
The city says there is still some flooding in the Pembroke area as well as on Rose Street and Biddle Street. They are starting to pump flood waters from private property in an attempt to dry out those areas.
The city is asking all residents to place their wood debris removal at the curb. They say limbs and trees should be no more than five feet long and five inches in diameter. For all Craven County customers they ask for debris also to be left in the same manor next to the curb for NC DOT to pickup.

Harris Teeter is giving away free bottles of water and ice while supplies last until 8:00 p.m.
FEMA officials are touring storm damage in the city of New Bern Tuesday. Early estimates are $5.8 million in damages to the City of New Bern residences during hurricane Irene. The assessment for homes is 85% complete. The estimate for commercial damage is $2.5 million, which is 100% complete.
