Deputies said a man is waking up in jail after he used a pipe as a weapon, injuring another man.
Deputies in Pitt County said they got a call around 11:30 Sunday night for an assault.
Investigators said 37-year-old Santana Jimenez was at his Blake Street home in Washington when he hit a man over the head with a pipe.
Deputies say the suspect is also accused of using the pipe to bang up the victim's vehicle.
The victim, who deputies said is not from Pitt County, was taken to a local hospital for a head injury. Investigators expect that man to recover.
Santana was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon intent to kill inflicting serious injury and injury to personal property.
His bond was set at $50,000 ahead of a first court appearance Monday morning.
