Troopers are investigating a fatal crash that killed a pedestrian in Craven County Wednesday night.
The Highway Patrol says around 9:45 p.m. Frederick Patterson, Jr. of New Bern was walking on U.S. 70 near the ranger station when he was hit by a passing vehicle.
Troopers say the 49-year-old man was wearing dark clothes, making it difficult to be seen by traffic.
No charges have been filed against the driver, 39-year-old Michael Brady of New Bern.
The Highway Patrol said troopers are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Craven County.
Dispatchers confirmed a Highway Patrolman was investigating the pedestrian vs. vehicle wreck along Highway 70 near East Fisher Avenue.
The wreck was called in after 10 p.m. Wednesday night.
