N.C. Woman Indicted In 23 Year Old Kidnapping Case

The indictment against Ann Pettway of Raleigh was returned by a federal grand jury in Manhattan on Thursday. She's been held without bail after her January arrest on charges that she kidnapped Carlina White from Harlem Hospital in August 1987. White is now 23 years old.

Pettway will enter a plea to the indictment at a hearing on Feb. 24. Her lawyer did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment. Carlina White's mother, Joy White, also did not immediately respond.

The FBI has said in court papers that the Raleigh, N.C., woman took the baby after her own efforts at childbearing failed.

"All she wanted was the money" is a B.S. comment. The young lady was curious and followed her instinct. She never had a relationship with her biological parents because she was kidnapped.

The grown woman that found her parents after being abducted as a baby no longer has a relationship with her biological family because they had no money for her. ALL SHE WANTED WAS THE MONEY. Anyone surprised? I told my husband she was out for money and she was!
