NC State's Harrow To Transfer

From: NC State Media relations

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State head men's basketball coach Mark Gottfried has announced that he and rising sophomore guard Ryan Harrow have reached a mutual decision that Harrow will transfer to another program.

"We wish him well and will do anything we can to assist him in this process," said Gottfried, who added that he would release Harrow to any school except one in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

"I think this staff will do good things here at NC State," said Harrow. "The year off will help me improve in many ways and I think the decision is the best for me personally."

Harrow played in 29 games, starting 10, and averaged 23 minutes per contest for the Wolfpack in 2010-11.

Did you ever consider the possibility that he was asked to leave? Maybe it wasn't his decision to make.

Option 1: Play in the ACC, bolt in a year or two for the NBA. Option 2: Transfer, sit out a year, and hope that some SEC school (Georgia, Kentucky, etc.) will let you play for them. Yep, he made the right choice alright!

hmmmm, you need to learn a little more about the game. Evaluation of talent certainly is not forte of yours. There was ABSOLUTELY NO OPTION of bolting for the NBA for this kid. He does not have NBA talent, mentioning him in the same breath as the NBA reveals a total vacuum somewhere in your basketball IQ.

Kay Yow was a great coach and an even better human being. May she RIP. But the Wolfies will bitterly regret the day they ever heard (much less hired... LOL!) the name "Debbie Yow". The word inside Maryland athletics the day Debbie announced that she was leaving was 1. Hallelujah! They couldn't believe their luck! and 2. "A win-win". Someone else takes Debbie off our hands PLUS it is another ACC school and rival that she will now destroy. You won't agree with me now, I know. But, if you have any intellectual honesty, please report back here your Debbie Yow thoughts in 2 years.
