Six fire units brought the blaze under control in about 10 minutes and damage was contained to the kitchen area of the home.
The Rocky Mount Fire Department says the call came in from an alarm system that went off. They believe the alarm went off due to the sensors melting. Neighbors say they are still in disbelief as they look at the home that has hardly any visible damage.
"She was a real nice person. It's just a tragedy. Its just sad. Our prayers go out to the family to the children," said neighbor Clementine Brinkley.
The cause is still under investigation and an autopsy is planned. Officials say that all of her children are with Reena's mother.
