A strong southerly flow of air will bring high humidity and warm temperatures through Wednesday. Highs will reach the lower to middle 80s inland and middle to upper 70s along the beaches. The atmosphere will be a bit more stable Wednesday so only isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected. A strong cold front will arrive Thursday afternoon giving eastern North Carolina a better chance for showers and strong to severe thunderstorms. Clearing skies will move in for Friday and the weekend.
