It was a great day weather wise across the east with 70°s and 80°s inland with 60°s along the beaches. More warmth and wind is expected on Monday with 80°s for many inland locations. The National Weather Service is starting to issue wind advisories for the east for a wind event Monday. We could see sustained winds of 20-30 mph with gusts over 40 mph at times.

A sharp cold front will move through the east Monday night triggering a line of showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be strong to severe. The Storm Prediction Center has the east under a slight risk for severe weather Monday night. Sharply cooler and dry conditions will follow the front on Tuesday.

Stay tuned to WITN-TV and for the latest on the warmth, wind, and storm potential.
