Eastern North Carolina will get one more day of sunshine before clouds return to the area Friday night into Saturday. We should once again see high in the lower to middle 70s. The high pressure responsible for sunshine and mild temperatures the past few days will move offshore Friday allowing clouds to build into the area late in the day. A cold front across the Midwest will move slowly eastward and spread showers and thunderstorms into western North Carolina late Friday and across the state by Saturday. Some of the showers and thunderstorms could produce some severe weather across eastern North Carolina Saturday afternoon and evening. The front will push the clouds and showers off the coast by early Sunday. Sunny skies and highs in the lower to middle 70s can be expected on Sunday.
