A slow-moving cold front combined with deep tropical moisture will lead to more showers and thunderstorms across eastern North Carolina. The front will move into eastern North Carolina by early Saturday and stall. Showers and storms will continue to develop near the front and some of the rainfall will be locally heavy. The heaviest rainfall should end by Saturday afternoon but the threat of showers will continue into Sunday. It will stay warm and humid with highs in the lower 80s Friday afternoon and again Saturday. Drier weather will gradually move into the area late in the weekend and early next week.
