A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for counties along and east of I-95 as well as counties north of highway 64 through Thursday night.
A cold front will approach eastern Carolina by Thursday evening causing an increase in showers and thunderstorms. Some of the rain could be locally heavy with 1 to 2+ inches possible in many locations from late Thursday through Friday. Severe storms are unlikely, but frequent lightning, gusty winds, and heavy downpours can be expected.
The threat for showers will continue into the weekend but rainfall should not be as heavy. Afternoon highs will be close to 90 degrees Thursday, with middle upper 80s expected Friday through the weekend.
