Middle Schoolers' Raise Hundreds To Benefit Students Displaced By Tornadoes

One middle school in the east had a fundraiser to benefit another school destroyed by the April 16th tornadoes.

Hope Middle School in Pitt county had "Go Green for Greene County
Day" to benefit Greene County Middle School. Hope students had the opportunity to wear jeans, a green shirt and a hat in exchange for a dollar donation for each piece they wear.

"We have 700 kids in the school, and we raised $800 dollars. Since we're doing three things, each child could do more than $1," said 7th grader Anna Prevatte.

"It feels good to know that we actually helped out, and hopefully this will be a ripple effect and other schools will also do the same," said 6th grader Conner Christian.

Students at Greene Middle School have moved into the high school to finish out the school year.
