Meet The Heels Event Cancelled

Chapel Hill, N.C. - North Carolina's "Meet The Heels" football event, scheduled for Saturday (Aug. 27) evening at 6 p.m., has been cancelled due to the potential for inclement weather and dangerous winds from Hurricane Irene.

"The safety of our players, coaches and fans is our top priority," said Associate Athletic Director for Marketing Rick Steinbacher. "Coach Withers and the players were looking forward to interacting with our fans and members of the Carolina Kids Club. However, we have been in constant communication with various weather services and all the forecasts as of Friday morning are predicting the possibility of rain and high winds in the Triangle Saturday. We feel this is the best decision based on the information available."

With the season starting the following week, the event will not be rescheduled. Carolina opens the season vs. James Madison on Saturday, Sept. 3. Tickets, including $10 Youth Day tickets (groups of 10 or more), are available at

How apropos. This is akin to what will happen to the UNC-CHeat football program in the next 2-3 years... "Cancelled". You really don't think that the CHeater Hill big-wigs will sacrifice their phony reputation, not to mention their holy grail basketball program, for the football program, do you?!!! No, the football program will be sold down the river for the greater CHeater Hill "good". If you REALLY believe otherwise, you are either politically naive or ignorant to the pecking order at UNC-CHeat. Enjoy it CHeaters. You have earned national mockery all for a Tire Bowl. Still, it is not over. Enjoy the misery still to come! LOL!!! The Carolina Way = CHeating.
