Maysville Man Charged With Cocaine Possession, Assault

A man in the East has been arrested on drug charges after authorities caught him fleeing from a stopped vehicle.

The Jones County Sheriff’s Department arrested Anthony Dillahunt of Maysville and charged him with sell & deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, assault on a government official, resist public officer, injury to personal property, and possession of open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

A narcotics investigator patrolling the Long Point area of Jones County stopped a vehicle that Dillahunt was in. They say Dillahunt ran from the vehicle and was caught after a chase which involved a struggle and assault on the pursuing officer. Authorities say a search of Dillahunt found several rocks of crack cocaine and over $500 in cash.

Dillahunt was placed in the Jones County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond.

My best guess (to answer your question) would be prior convictions of the same charge and/or other related charges (DUI/DWI, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, domestic abuse or public drunkenness). But I'm not an expert in law enforcement or the judicial system.
