Tickets to the Pirate-Terrapin Clash No Longer Available Through ECU Ticket Office

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Military Bowl officials announced that both Maryland and East Carolina have sold out its ticket allotment. Both teams were given 10,000 tickets to sell to their respective fan bases. The excitement is building as both teams prepare to play in the Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman on December 29 at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. Kickoff is 2:30 p.m. ET (ESPN).

“Maryland and ECU supporters have come out in force,” said Steve Beck, executive director of the Military Bowl. “With a limited number of seats left, we encourage people to purchase tickets now. Taking the family to the Military Bowl is a great holiday gift.”

In addition to fan support, local residents have shown their true holiday spirit through, the bowl’s official site. Since November, the site has raised more than $20,000 in donations toward the purchase of bowl game tickets for military members and their families. A sizable portion of this donation has come from Northrop Grumman employees. Donations are still being accepted.

“We are grateful for the generosity that has been exhibited through this special program that gives back to our brave military members,” continued Beck. “The Military Bowl celebrates our troops, and these funds will be used to ensure they enjoy an entertaining event during the holidays.”

Fans can also enjoy a full lineup of bowl week activities. Festivities begin with the Military Bowl Battle of the Bands presented by Marriott on Freedom Plaza from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on December 27, and continue with the Military Bowl Official Tailgate Party at the DC Armory on game day from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., before culminating with The After Party at the DC Armory from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. after the game.

Tickets to all events can be purchased at, all Ticketmaster locations or by calling 800-551-SEAT. Tickets also can be purchased or picked up at the RFK Stadium box office December 27 - 29 or at the DC Armory Will Call trailer on December 29 (Armory events only). Group orders can be purchased by calling (202) 785-BOWL (2695).

Sam - Your posts on the Michael Vick story were tossed into blocked comments because of the word "cocky" you used to describe Vick. Those comments have now been approved. The comment you posted about Allison used was rejected because we will not approve the word you used to describe him. We don't have a double standard to approve comments, we just do it on the fly. Dave, since you want to say that ECU fans have no life outside of ECU sports and they stay stuck in ENC when it is not football season. There are plenty of us that love to hunt, fish, play golf, cruise around on the boat, and some of us even love to surf and wakeboard. ENC is one of the greatest places around, with the OBX being the best set of towns around. There are plenty of beaches, golf courses, rivers, lakes, sounds, historical attractions, summer baseball games, tennis courts, wildlife refuges, and state parks here. I could go on and on, but this is a huge outdoorsy region. Most ENC people take advantage of it. I for one rarely leave the Outer Banks area during the summer, and usually that's to see the Norfolk Tides baseball team or go to my wife's work. Trust me, there is plenty of life going on around this area.

WITN Moderator, it sounds like you only enforce your rule only on certain people considering what I have seen on other articles as well as this one. Sounds like half of these should be deleted then if mine is deleted! What a double standard you have on enforcing rules!

I disagree on Maryland not wanting to play in this bowl game...what else did they have going? They were what, third in an ACC And if you were on your way out you would want to win to show everyone they were wrong AND for your players whom you have established a bond with. truhtbtold makes it sound like they are approaching this game as "whatever...I'm out anyway" which is totally wrong but I doubt truthbtold has ever coached anything let alone played a sport...btw truthbtold = dave...nice try dave

I am sure you will watching truthbtold since you hate ecu so much. Try meditation or yoga to release some of that hate and for starters stay off of these "pro-ecu boards" as they seem to get you all riled up hahaha

Well, for starters, the MD coach is a lame duck and MD does not want to play in such a second rate game. DESPITE THAT FACT, MD is going to bury ECU to show the selection committees that they made a mistake by not putting MD in a better game so it will be absolutely unwatchable. Not as if anybody will be watching this game anyway.

truthbtold - and why do you think this...and try to keep it in football jargon and not just like Dave in saying someone sucks, etc. Tell us exactly why you think it will blow...
  • by TruthBTold on Dec 24, 2010 at 07:49 PM
They need to rename this game to the Military Blow because that's what this game will do.

For a split second I thought Dave's heart had grown three sizes this day as he explained to Bud about the games he had been to in the past...but the end...he went back to being sour Dave BOOOOOO Dave BOOO. I was hoping you would be nice especially on Christmas Eve. Regardless of the way you are still speaking...Merry Christmas Dave!! May the joy of the season find you!!

Buuuud, I am not much of the game goer, if you will. The last time I went to a game was in 2009. I saw the Pittsburgh Pirates and Atlanta Braves. Shockingly, the Pirates won 6-2. I would rather watch football and hockey games on TV because ticket prices are asinine. Baseball tickets are manageable no matter the level. The only reason why ECU fans travel all over the planet is because they have nothing better to do and once football season is over, they are stuck in ENC until August because they don't have much of a life outside of ECU sports.
