A christmas wish that won't come true. I saw that Mike Leach has signed a contract to coach Washington State. Wouldn't it be nice if Ruffin McNiel, and Lincoln Riley were to be hired as his assistants, since he did so well with them in Texas. Ruffin McNeil is definately not head coach material, and Riley doesn't seem to have a knowledge of successful play calling. This became very obvious with the plays called in the overtime against Marshall. Nuff said.

I am in really sad shape. I thought for sure that this years ECU football team would win at least 8 games. I cannot believe that we are not going to a Bowl game either.

No one cares about the Tarheels football, not even their bandwagon fans. And now basketball is hitting the fan. With the top calibur recruits UNC gets it is flat out embarrassing. You may need to switch over to Kentucky for this year and go bash Louisville on their local news website, only then may you not look so ignorant. Have a good day Lyle.

To all of the UNC fans, what are you doing trolling the local Greenville news website about East Carolina; that's just sad. Concentrate on supporting your "favorite school for the week" instead because we all know that's lacking in all departments unless Tarheels are winning. I know there isn't anything else to look forward too in Chapel Hill with your meaningless upcoming bowl and so called "NUMBER ONE" bball team that just lost to UNLV of all teams (what a joke they've turned out to be). And to the guy who said ECU should not be division one but Barton should, keep touting your Tarheel ignorance for everyone to see in Greenville, your opinions are comical at best. ECU is and upcoming program that lost the most starters in the year of all DI last year along with their coach and have still not recovered, that is evident. Until McNeil is gone, I'm not sure if ECU can ever recover.

So I guess some of you were offended with my statement, its just the plain and simple truth whether you like it or not. Just look at society there is enough evidence that supports what I said. Can't make chicken salad out of chicken manure but we believe in this society that we can.

Bad coaching was clearly evident to me throughout this frustrating season.Chalk up another losing season with many more in the future.Program is going nowhere. It will be hard to motivate folks to write the check for the upcoming season.I sincerely know high school coaches who draw up a better game plan and make adjustments. Some folks are not head coaching material but make great assistants.I think this it what we are witnessing.Lincoln Riley's Air Fraud is laughable and very easy for defensive coordinators to prep for.

I Agree.Assistant Coaches should have a 2 year contract.Head Coaches should be rewarded for winning seasons. Now 6-6 ain't no winning season & No Bonus!!!. 7-5 gets a 15% Bonus,8-4 gets a 25 % bonus,9-3 gets a 30 % Bonus,10-2 Gets a 35 % Bonus. 10-1 gets a 50% Bonus,& Well a 12-0 season gets the biggie 60% Pay bonus. Make the head coach "Split" the bonus money will all assistant coaches equally.Bet you the coaches would work their butts off the get this money & This would elimate bad play calling.

I agree -ECU back on the helmet, EAST CAROLINA on the back!

I agree with the post below...take the names off the jerseys, go back to the traditional helmets, ask all the staff to take a 10% pay cut across the board...and offer 15% for a winning season in 2012, 20% for a 7 win season, 25% for winning a post-season Bowl. You get what you pay for, you don't get paid when WE don't get what WE paid for, Divsion One football!
