The Department of Defense says the death of a Marine in Afghanistan is under investigation.
Military officials said Thursday that 19-year-old Lance Cpl. John R. Wimpey Cagle of Tucker, Ga., died Sept. 28 in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
Cagle was assigned to 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune.
