Kinston police have made an arrest in the case of a man who was shot in the head and survived to tell us what happened.
Jaquez Herring is charged with attempted first degree murder, attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
Monday night Michael Faison says a bullet grazed his head and ended up in his living room wall after a gunman forced his way into the man's Carver Courts apartment.
Faison was treated and released from the hospital and talked to WITN News Tuesday about what happened.
"Thank God I'm still alive," Faison told reporter Kelsie Smith. "I don't know what they wanted, I have no money to give them. This has never happened to me before, I just don't know why they would barge in on me like that."
The 18-year-old Herring is in jail under a $1,050,000 bond.
A man was shot in the head last night and has already been released from the hospital.
Kinston police say Michael Faison told them that two men pushed their way into his home at Carver Courts and tried to rob him late Monday night. One of the gunmen then shot Faison with the bullet grazing his head.
Faison was treated and released from Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
Police have not yet made any arrests in the shooting.
