Arrest Made In Kinston Attempted Murder Case

Kinston police have made an arrest in the case of a man who was shot in the head and survived to tell us what happened.

Jaquez Herring is charged with attempted first degree murder, attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Monday night Michael Faison says a bullet grazed his head and ended up in his living room wall after a gunman forced his way into the man's Carver Courts apartment.

Faison was treated and released from the hospital and talked to WITN News Tuesday about what happened.

"Thank God I'm still alive," Faison told reporter Kelsie Smith. "I don't know what they wanted, I have no money to give them. This has never happened to me before, I just don't know why they would barge in on me like that."

The 18-year-old Herring is in jail under a $1,050,000 bond.

The story first reported that there was two men. So what is going on with the other guy? Have they got him or is he still on the run.

this doesnt surprise me at all. you can never say what you wouldve done in that situation. split seconds are all you have to make rational decisions. too bad the victim didnt have a gun. he couldve shot that guy in the face then burned his body with gas.
