A man trying to help a driver who crashed on the Grimesland Bridge spoke to WITN about the bizarre ordeal, that almost cost him his life.
Tuan Luong Tran says he left his job, as a nail technician, Tuesday night to check on other stores. At the Grimesland Bridge in Pitt County he saw a car that crashed into the guard rail of the bridge. Luong Tran says the man inside, 36-year-old Jonathan Kremkau, was struggling to get out. Luong Tran says he got out to help, heard gunshots, and realized the man in the car was shooting at him. Bullets hit his door and windshield.
"95% of the time, I actually pull over to help people it doesn't matter what time of day it is, if you have your hazards on i most likely gonna pull over now this changed my outlook on that, i could have lost my life," said Luong Tran.
Kremkau has been hospitalized and charged with assault with deadly weapon with intent to kill.
