A Nash County man was killed after being struck by five cars and a tractor trailer Monday night.

The accident happened around 10:00 p.m. on U.S. 64 near West Washington Street in Nashville.

Troopers say 52-year-old John Perry of Middlesex stepped into the path of one vehicle, and then landed in the traffic lanes when he was struck by the other vehicles. The Highway Patrol says drivers thought they had hit a deer. All the cars stopped, but the tractor trailer kept going.

No charges have been filed in the accident.

Hopefully this man did not suffer. I can not imagine the feelings of those drivers. What a tragic situation all the way around.

Its sad that someone would choose to walk out in traffic like that. I am sorry for the family. I am also sorry for all the drivers who had experienced having to go through this. I have a friends who is a truck driver and she went through this a few years ago where someone jumped out in front of her truck! It traumatized her for quite some time!

Put yourself in his shoes; it's terrible and sad. Put yourselves in his families shoes. Quit trying to be cute about these stories. It's totally sad. God rest his soul.
