A man charged in a 2003 murder in Eastern Carolina has been brought back from Massachusetts to stand trial in the case.
37-year-old Eben Howard is charged with killing Dave Johnson in Richlands back in May of 2003. Johnson was the boyfriend of Howard's ex-wife. Howard's father posted 100-thousand dollars bond and took him to Massachusetts to a psychiatric hospital. It was there where authorities say he tried to strangle a hospital employee. While that case was being heard in court, authorities say he attacked his lawyer.
Howard is now at central prison in Raleigh under no bond.
