The fear of being run over forced one assault suspect in Jones County to give himself up.
When police tried to serve a warrant to Dante Wright, he took off running. The pursuing deputy lost him on foot, so he got in his patrol car and drove through a field looking for the suspect. That happened to be where the suspect was laying down hiding.
As the deputy drove closer, he says Wright stood up with his hands in the air for fear he would be run over.
Wright was arrested. He will also be charged with resisting arrest.
