Man Critically Hurt After Brick Attack

Five young men and two juveniles have been charged after police say a Tarboro man was critically injured with a brick.

Police say Edward Plasencio was not only hit in the head with the brick, but also kicked and punched after he was down on the ground.

It happened Thursday around 8:30 a.m. Police say a juvenile robbed another at the Tarboro Quick Shop and the 29-year-old Plasencio was sticking up for the juvenile victim. Some time later eight people ganged up on the man at the Mobile Home Estates on Dunbar Road.

Jeremy Williams, Shaquell Burney, Holland Dancy, Cedric Dozier and Eric Brady have all been charged with felony assault inflicting serious injury.

Plasencio was airlifted to Pitt County Memorial Hospital where he is in critical condition.

Once again like I've posted on other stories, the charge needs to be "Assault With a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury With Intent to Kill". If someone is hitting me with a brick, they are trying to "KILL" me. And if someone tries to kill me, they will be staring down the barrel of a 40 cal. H&K USP Compact, which I carry legally. People, you need to arm yourselves.........legally. The Thugs are armed, so protect yourselves.

All of them need an express lane to the chair. No need to be put in jail and waste our tax dollars. That man did not deserve to get beaten like that. If they do go to jail I hope they get what they deserve in there. Karma will get you!

one half of a brick use to be called an alley apple pretty popular in the late 1940's and thru the 1960's.

Their defense attorneys who will be paid with tax dollars will portray these miscreants at misunderstood, abused and otherwise upstanding citizens. Well make them upstanding citizens in confinement with a chain and ball, manual grass maintenance tools and a rotten nasty guard armed with a shotgun. Rehabilitation? Pleeeeeze! The only rehab these clowns will ever learn is from a needle while strapped down.
