A man is in critical condition at the burn center in Chapel Hill after police say someone threw a pot of hot grease on him.
Rakem Kato suffered facial and bodily injuries in the attack which happened at a home on Hammond Street in Rocky Mount Tuesday night. Police say the 25-year-old is in stable, but critical condition.
Police have charged Okeefe Bunn with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. They say he ran from the scene but was arrested this morning.
Investigators say two women were also injured by the hot grease. Sharon Warren and Arielle Warren were both treated and released from Nash General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Police did not say what a possible motive was in the attack.
