A Chocowinity man is charged with sexual exploitation of minors after deputies say they investigated allegations that an adult was giving alcoholic beverages to juveniles and assisted in videotaping them "in inappropriate activities".
Arthur Cota, 50, was charged Friday with four counts of first degree sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of second degree exploitation of a minor.
The arrest warrants obtained by WITN News say Cota permitted a 15 year old to have sexual intercourse for "the purpose of producing material containing a visual representation depicting this activity."
The warrants also say Cota permitted a 15 year old to engage in sexual activity, bathing naked with another juvenile "for the purpose of producing material containing a visual representation depicting this activity."
Deputies say they began an investigation back on January 24th after they were tipped off to the possible crime. They obtained a search warrant for the man's Bay Drive home and evidence was collected.
Cota was released on a $50,000 secured bond.
