UPDATE: Father Charged As Accessory After Son Charged With Child Rape

The father of a suspected child rapist is now behind bars charged with being an accessory after the fact.

The Pitt County Sheriff's Office made the arrest around 5:00 p.m. Thursday. They say Leroy Jackson is the father of 20-year-old Emanuel Jackson of Ayden. According to the Sheriff's Office, Emanuel is charged with 2 counts of 1st degree rape of a child and 2 counts of statutory offenses.

They say the rapes started four years ago, when the girl was between six and seven years old. Authorities say they arrested Anthony's father for having knowledge of the assault and not reporting it. He is in jail under a $500,000 bond. His son is still in jail under a two million dollar bond.

A Pitt County man has been arrested on charges that he raped a young child over a four year period.

Deputies have charged Emanuel Jackson with two counts of first degree rape of a child. He was arrested this morning and is still be processed at the jail.

The victim was seven years old at when the rapes began four years ago. Jackson is now 20 years old and deputies say more charges are coming in the case.

Jackson is under a $2,000,000 bond.
