Man Charged With New Bern Armed Robbery

An arrest has been made in an armed robbery that happened in the parking lot of a New Bern store on Saturday morning.

Rayvon Morris is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon after the robbery outside of Five Points Food Mart.

Police say Christian Crudup told them he was leaving the store when Morris came at him and wanted to know what he was looking at Morris the way he was. The victim told police Morris struck him on the head and face several time with an unknown object, causing cuts on his face.

Police say $200 was taken in the robbery.

Morris was caught that afternoon, and police say he resisted arrest. Morris was taken to the hospital for an elbow injury and then jailed on a $50,000 bond.
