Troopers say on Saturday 35-year-old Raymark Bembury avoided their check points set up on Stantonsburg Road in Greenville around 11:45 p.m. Troopers followed him and say he threw a weapon and scales from his vehicle and later ran into a ditch and then tried to run off, but he was tased and arrested.

Bembury faces several charges, including possession of a firearm by a felon. He's in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $100 thousand dollar bond.
