Man Behind Bars After Injuring Himself, Two Others In Shooting

Three were injured and one of those is behind bars after an early morning shooting happened Tuesday in Rocky Mount.

Rocky Mount police say the shooting occurred at a home on Layola Avenue around 4:20 a.m. Tuesday.

The incident began when Michael Perry, 24, and Brett Alston, 20, were fighting. Alston's brother, Monques Alston, 17, stepped in by shooting a gun. By shooting, Monques Alston injured himself as well as Brett Alston and Perry.

Perry and Bretty Alston were charged with simple affray. Monques Alston was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and held on a $12,000 bond after released from the hospital. Both of the shooting victims have been treated and released.
