Man Airlifted To PCMH After Crash

Troopers say a man was airlifted to PCMH after a crash in Pamlico County on Saturday afternoon.

They say Jamal Assaedi was driving east on Highway 55 when he went to make a left turn onto South Trent Road. He didn't see another vehicle going west on the highway and when he attempted to go left he T-boned that car injuring his passenger. Troopers have not released that passengers name or his condition at the hospital.

The accident happened around 3:48 p.m. Assaedi has been charged with failing to see before turning if such a movement can be done so safely.

Troopers say all others involved were not injured.
