NEW INFO: Man Who Hit Cows With Truck Says He's Bruised, Sore


A man who hit a group of cows that had wandered away from a farm and gathered in a dark stretch of roadway says he's bruised and sore, and his truck is totaled.

Reginald Beasley says he was headed home from work when he slammed into the cows on on Highway 264 Alternate near Lewis Store Road in Greene County. The crash happened around 1:40 a.m., according to the Highway Patrol.

Troopers say three of the cows were killed in the accident, and a farmer was looking for four missing cows.

No charges will be filed, according to the Highway Patrol.

A man was taken to the hospital overnight after his pickup truck crashed into cows on a dark highway.

The Highway Patrol says the crash happened at 1:40 a.m. in Greene County, on Highway 264 Alternate near Lewis Store Road.

Troopers say 49-year-old Reginald Beasley of Walstonburg hit a group of cows that had gotten loose from a nearby farm and crowded onto the road. They say there are no lights on this stretch of roadway.

Beasley is expected to be okay, and troopers say he will not face any charges.

Troopers report three cows died, and the farmer was looking for four others.
