MDA Lockup In Pitt County

It was one hour behind bars--for a good cause Wednesday in Pitt County.

Local business owners were booked, photographed, then "locked up" as a part of the Muscular Dystrophy Association fundraiser.

Inmates were jailed at the City Hotel and Bistro in Greenville. There they called friends, family and everyone in between to try and raise money to get released.

The goal was $63,000.

Muscular Dystrophy is a degenerative disease that causes muscles to gradually become weaker over time.

Funds will go toward summer camps, research and MDA centers of excellence.
