Letter Of Intent: Next Step Taken For Beaufort County Medical Center

A letter of intent between the Beaufort Regional Health System Authority Board and University Health Systems was signed late Tuesday afternoon.

According to officials, the signing of the letter of intent allows the due diligence process to continue to move forward.

A spokewoman said the next step in the process for the Beaufort County Commissioners is a public hearing regarding the UHS proposal.

That will take place Wednesday, February 9th at 6:30 p.m. at Beaufort County Community College Building 8.

The spokeswoman said it's expected within several weeks following the hearing, the commissioners "expect to complete the task of studying and approving the necessary documents that would allow University Health Systems to lease the necessary real estate for operating the hospital."

The peoplE who are suspicious of UHS are right. The university name makes them look like a benevolent institution yet they are just as cutthroat as any other. The CEO of the red cross was investigated years ago for making less than McRae he makes more than what 10 doctors who have ten times the years in training make in 4 years. It is obscene and that by itself tells you about the philosophy in the institution. They are now trying to look benevolent by approaching doctors just because the government has subsidies and later on penalties fornthose organizations that do not unify care under one umbrella. If they take over ne NC they will control the market almost to a point of antitrust concerns. Ask questions and impose guarantees because ultimately they will succeed but it is up to the doctors to demand now what they will not do later it is hard to accept this but the whole country is going this way.

They all will be calling CAMA now about the sewage lines at the hospital. Stick your nose in that business and see where that gets you.
