Layaway Makes A Comeback This Christmas

An old-fashioned way of shopping is making a comeback this year, according to retailers.

Chain stores across the country and in the east are offering layaway for the holiday season because of the recovering economy.

Layaway customers at Kmart say the program helped make Christmas possible this year by allowing them to make affordable payments over time, instead of racking up a lot of credit card debt at once.

Other stores using layaway include Walmart, Toys R Us and Best Buy.

This would have been a great article back in October or November. Three days before Christmas? Not so much.
