The Halifax County Sheriff's Department is searching for two gunmen in a fatal shooting.
The shooting took place on Sunday around 11:45 p.m. on Maple St. Extension in Weldon. When deputies arrived on scene they found Brandon Peterson, 29, of Weldon, injured with a gunshot wound. Peterson was taken to Halifax Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
The first gunman is a black male approximately 20-21 years of age, 5'10: to 5'11" tall, dark complexion, wearing a dark or rust color Under Amour fleece coat with blue jeans. The second man appeared to be 17-18 years of age, 5'6' to 5'8" tall, medium complexion, wearing what resembled a Tar Heel colored fleece.
