Lawmen Looking For Diesel Fuel Thieves

Lawmen says someone is stealing diesel fuel from a gas station in Pink Hill, and they want your help identifying them.

These pictures from the Friendly Mart on Highway 11 South show four different vehicles about to pull up to the pump. The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office believes at least one of the drivers may know something about the thefts.

They believe whoever is responsible has knowledge of servicing and operations of commercial fuel pumps which would allow them to pump fuel without it being registered at the pumps.

The Friendly Mart says they lost more than $4,000 dollars in fuel.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office at 252-559-6100 or Lenoir County Crimestoppers at 252-523-4444.

Did Someone Say That They Stole Off-Road Diesel? If So, They Can't Legally Use It In A Diesel Truck 'Cuz The State Ain't Gettin' No Fuel Taxes!! Talk "Bout Law Breakin'!!

Where was the law during all of this? It takes a while to fill up those trucks and Pink Hill is not a very big town!!!

It is a know fact that if they have a drive off the manager takes and adds a few $ to different purchaces that honest people make. I wonder how she is going to make this one up!! Also, there is a shut off inside the store for non-hwy diesel that should be turned off when the store closes!

Unless its someone like thinkbef.isay riding around with those Hershey Bar/Kool Aid/Pepsi decals on the side of its car with the shiny rims these pics are about as useless as that Unabomber wanted sketch. Good luck apprehending that white Ford Explorer.

to RDD. lets think about what you are 'just saying'. its highly unlikely you could focus in tight enough on a license plate from that far away to be able to read it, even when assuming all trucks have them in the same place (they don't) and it isn't obscured with road grime. With an overhead view, you get a clear overal image, not obstructed by other vehicles and far enough overhead for a panoramic view and no one monkeys with the camera. with this angle you might even get a shot of the guys faces, instead of 'maybe' getting a potentially stolen license plate. start thinking before you start typing.

I am sure it is the 2 door, gas powered Ford explorer and not the 3 diesel trucks that got $1000's in diesel fuel.

Try positioning the camera at the license tag. Just saying.
