La Grange NAACP Youth Council Hosts MLK Jr. Day Parade

Crowds lined streets for miles in the town of La Grange in Lenoir County for a parade in honor of Doctor Martin Luther King's legacy Monday. The parade was hosted by the the La Grange Youth Council of the NAACP. The president of the La Grange NAACP explains why MLK Jr. Day is an important day for young people.

"We want our young people to know that your rights were not just given to you that he had to stand and fight for us to have rights. At this present time we know his dream is still unfolding."said Carolyn Ellis, La Grange NAACP President.

The parade has been put on annually in La Grange since 2006.
