A three year old girl was taken into protective custody after authorities say she was in a car with meth. Also inside was the child's mother and grandmother.
State troopers in Jones County say they originally pulled the car over on Old New Bern School Road around 11:10 a.m. for a seat belt violation. Once stopped, the trooper noticed some pills inside and called deputies for backup.
Inside the car they ended up seizing crystal meth, along with material to make meth and other drug paraphernalia. Deputies say the child's mother, Virginia Stancil, was driving the car, while the three year old's grandmother was also along for the ride.
Virginia Stancil, Lisa Stancil and Brandon Quinn have all be charged with felony possession of meth, felony possession of meth precursors, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver has also been charged with maintaining a vehicle for drugs and felony child endangerment.
The three year old was turned over to family members.
