Kinston Railroad Project Alters Traffic

Construction for a railroad project in Kinston will interrupt traffic flow for the next month.

The Department of Transportation plans to close Hull Rd. in Kinston beginning Wednesday at 6 a.m. During the roadwork, crews will establish 5.7 miles of tracks for Spirit Aerosystems to transport materials to their company at the Global Transpark.

Motorists will not be able to access Hull Rd. between Waldrop and Hillcrest Roads. Workers expect the traffic detour to continue until Aug. 14.

Are you serious? I drive this road daily and it has not been closed for a month. There has been trucks and other work crews there and at the new VA nursing home but the road has not been closed until now.
