A low income high rise apartment building reopened Thursday, after being closed three weeks ago by fire.
The Kinston Housing Authority says residents of Kinston Towers were able to return home starting at 9:00 a.m.
The eleven-story building was closed after an electrical fire on June 26th forced the evacuation of some 150 residents.
The fire damaged the building's main electrical bus.
Many residents have been staying at local hotels. They were transported back to the Queen Street building throughout the day Thursday.
The American Red Cross, the Salvation Army and the North Carolina Baptist Men have been providing meals to the displaced residents.
