Jury Finds Man "Not Guilty" of Shooting Pregnant Girlfriend

A jury has found a Kinston man accused of shooting his pregnant girlfriend two years ago not guilty.

18-year-old Simeon Meadows went on trial this week for Assault With A Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury With The Intent To Kill.

The jury found Meadows not guilty of trying to kill his girlfriend.

His girlfriend, Whitney Jones, survived the near fatal wound, but lost her unborn twin babies.

Police say she was shot inside the Simon Bright Apartments in April of 2009.
