Three men were arrested on drug charges in Jones County after a traffic stop turned up prescription and street drugs.

35-year-old Joe Rhem Jr. of Trenton, 51-year-old William Kinsey and 63-year-old Robert Brown both of Pollocksville are all charged with
Felony Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, Maintain a Vehicle for Controlled Substance, Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Open Container of Malt Beverage.

Deputies were dispatched to Pollocksville Wednesday, in reference to shots being fired from an older model, white pickup. Deputies say they searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle. A short time later, Sheriff Danny Heath was driving and noticed a truck matching the description of the truck involved in the shooting.

Sheriff Heath stopped the truck with three men inside. Additional deputies responded and say they found oxycodone, marijuana, crack, drug paraphernalia, an open container of alcohol and just under $3,000 in cash. Three men were arrested and all were held under $10,000 bond.

The three men were placed into the custody of the Jones County Detention Center. However, Mr. Rhem posted bond for all three men shortly thereafter.

Ya,he does catch the druggies, I don't hear about anything else he does for this county.I guess he don't think it's important cause it's not putting his picture in the paper. I didn't vote for him!! and will not. We need someone that cares about this town and not just drugs.I won't vote for Hall either. He's blind to what his officers were doing when he was in office.

the jones county sheriffs department and how it is run is a JOKE I had such faith in it until I became a part of it and instead of justice being served the guilty walked free and the innocent paid, JCSD should really being investigated cause I can guarantee some of the biggest crooks are on the payroll

Interesting how people always "vote" their pocketbooks. Are you on the receiving end of the "rath" of the decent citizens of Jones County after so many years of nothing being done to clean up the mess?

To: disbeliefinjustice ,Maybe, you need to come to the Sheriff's Office. Seeing how this was 3 1/2 years ago it would have been under the previous administration. I have been in office just over a year! Look forward to hearing from you. Thank You! Sheriff Heath

The court system is ridiculous in Jones County. Of course, it's the poorest county in the state (or near abouts) but the difference in court is night & day. You'll feel like you were in Mayberry.
