Getting a book published is an accomplishment that not many adults achieve, but a 17-year-old high school student from the east can now say she has done just that.
D'Aja Fulmore is a senior at Jones Senior High School. She graduates in the spring with a 4.51 GPA and is heading to college, but she says just like many teens she's had struggles and obstacles that she's had to overcome.
She decided to take her past journal entries and write a motivational autobiography. The 70 page book titled "Here I Am" has been picked up by a local publisher and will be available February 24th. Fulmore says she hopes teens will be able relate to the book and learn from it.
"I feel like as a teenager we are faced with so many things that so many people don't know about and with me it was like I was just going to release all of that and maybe inspire someone else to do the same." said Fulmore.
Fulmore hopes to one day be a motivational speaker. The book is $12.50, you can order it on Amazon.com or check out Fulmore's Facebook page for more information.
