Jacksonville Looking For Citizens Police Academy Applicants

Residents in Jacksonville are being given a chance to find out exactly how the police department operates.

The Jacksonville Police Department is looking for participants for the Citizens Police Academy.

Classes begin September 8th and run for 10 weeks. Most classes will be held Thursday nights between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

Applicants must be 21-years-old, a Jacksonville resident, business owner or be employed by the city.

Applicants must also pass a background check.

Applications are available on the city website or you can pick one up at the police department.
