Donations have been coming in from just about everywhere to the American Red Cross to help with tornado relief. Thursday the organization received a donation from an unlikely group of individuals in Greene County...inmates.
The inmates at Maury Correctional facility decided to raise money for victims who live in the county hit by the April 16th tornado.
Through a special service project, inmates took pictures of visiting family members or inmates during a special presentation and sold them for $2.00 a piece. They were able to raise $300.00 to help the American Red Cross.
In a separate presentation, workers at Maury Correctional raised money for four of their co-workers, displaced after the tornadoes in Greene County. The workers raised $1,200 to split between the four workers.
