An inmate at Maury Correctional Institution is in 23-hour a day segregation after prison officials say he threw urine on five staff members.
Regermaine Ross, who is serving 26 years on a habitual felon charge, is now facing charges of assault on a government official and malicious conduct by a prisoner.
The Department of Correction says the attack happened October 12th when Ross threw urine on the officers, hit at least one of them with his handcuffs, and attempted to headbutt them. The DOC says three of those officers were treated for minor injuries for the assault.
Ross is only allowed one hour for exercise and shower outside of his cell. He has a Friday court date on the charges.
